ABOUT ME

Born to be creative!

I consider myself to be very lucky to have been raised in a very loving family in a small, rural town in North Queensland. I am the youngest of nine children and have inherited my grandmother's talent for drawing and art, and my mother's left-handedness, which I feel contributes to my creativity.

Education

I received a Bachelor of Visual Arts at James Cook University in Townsville in 1992, majoring in illustration. I was invited to complete my Honours, however I chose to embark on my creative career instead.

Qualifications

Then there was life...

Following my studies, I did a considerable amount of travel around Australia and then overseas for three years to the US, UK, Europe and Malta.
On my return to Australia, I worked in the public service sector before commencing my own business 'Nettie Dunne' then renamed in 2016 to Nettie O Design.
I currently reside in the beautiful, tropical town of Kuranda, where I relish my inspirational surroundings and love the temperate climate. It's a small country town full of creative personalities.
